About Us

Everyone is Welcome

We at Advance First Baptist Church are blessed of God in many ways. The fellowship here is amazing, and our congregation shares a common love for Jesus Christ, for the Word of God, and the advancement of His kingdom.

We passionately believe that unyielding, Biblical doctrine and knowledge is necessary to strengthen our Christian experience and worship. Sorrowfully, many churches today have turned, instead, to a “feel-good- gospel” and an entertainment-oriented worship; leading to larger numbers while clear teaching of the Bible has been neglected. Our goal is to see the Word of God prevail (Acts 19:20) in our preaching, evangelism, and personal lives; in this way, we may bring glory to Him.

At the center of our lives is Jesus Christ in whom we must continue to seek.  This we feel is accomplished through comparing scripture with scripture; line upon line, precept upon precept until we see the accurate picture of who Jesus is and what His plan is for the church. We must learn to worship Jesus in Spirit and in Truth that the act of worship is accomplished through the spirit that comes from learning of Jesus.

If you are looking for this kind of ministry, we invite you to join us this Sunday at Advance First Baptist Church.

Are you a real Christian or only playing the game?  If you were to die today and God asked you, “Why should I allow you into my heaven”, what reason would you give?

If you believe what the bible has to say and the God who breathed out the word, why don’t you live your life like He is real?

    Brothers and Sisters,

My name is Nate McCartney. I handle the worship at Farmington Baptist Church here in the Farmington community. I’m writing to you all today on behalf of one of the speakers who will be ministering with us at the community worship event on August 21st. Dr. Don Bartlett is speaking for us free of charge for this event, although he makes his living as a public speaker. You may have heard him on Focus on the Family giving his Macaroni at Midnight presentation about his early years as a disabled Native American growing up in the Dakotas. You can find more information on his ministry here: http://www.sussinc.com/cgi-bin/display.pl?db=db1&tp=tp2&show=12

To that end, I am trying to find some speaking engagements for him that weekend in the area so that he can make his living also while he is here. He does not charge a specific rate to speak, but works on the faith of a love offering taken when he speaks. He also needs transportation here from the Akron, Ohio area and a place to stay. My wife and I are having him stay with us, so that is taken care of. If any of you have need of a speaker on Sunday morning the 22nd or that evening, he would be greatful of the opportunity. Or, if you know of a church in need that weekend, please let me know that as well.

Thank you for your time. I hope you are all having a great week!
