What can we do?

What can we do?

Discipleship is an important part of what we attempt do here at Advance First Baptist Church. Once a person accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Lord & Savior we are committed to helping them grow in their faith. This process is called “discipleship.”

This blog is a growing attempt to provide additional discipleship training and many topics. From time to time we will offer various types of discipleship studies ranging from general interest to in-depth studies.

Beginning Sunday September 20, 2009 we will hold discipleship training at our church in Advance, NC on Sunday evenings.  This training will attempt to be age guided for children in addition to youth and adult training.

In addition, discipleship includes the following:

Attending Sunday School
Attending Worship
Daily Bible reading
Daily Prayer time
Participation on a Ministry Team

This blog is a combination of material gathered through research and personal meditation on God’s Holy Word.

Luke 9:23 gives us the command we are to follow if we truly are to be His disciple.

It is my prayer that those reading this blog read the following and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  We have a choice, either accept Him or have nothing to do with Him which is the same as rejecting Him.  Luke 11:23

We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, “Jesus is Lord,” you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.
